    164 Infections Reported, 5 Deaths As Toll Shoots To 33,794

    Kenya has confirmed 164 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, ministry of health has announced.

    This was after testing a 3,009 sample size pushing the toll to 33,794.

    In a statement, the ministry reported 156 recoveries, bringing the number of recoveries to 19,590.

    Five other patients have succumbed. The death toll has a result shot to 572.

    Out of the new cases, 158  were Kenyans while 6 were foreigners. Ultimately 90 were male and 74 were female.

    The youngest was a six month old baby while the oldest was 89 years.

    The distribution is as follows: Nairobi 56, Machakos 24, Kajiado 15, Uasin Gishu 14, Taita Taveta 11, Nakuru 8, Busia 6, Kiambu, Kilifi each recorded 5.

    Mombasa, Turkana, Lamu, Nyandarua each recorded 4, Nyandarua 2, Kisumu, Nyeri, Makueni, Garissa, Meru amd Kirinyaga had 1 cases each.

    The 56 cases in Nairobi were as follows; Westlands 6, Kasarani and Langata 5 cases each, Embakasi West, Kibra and Starehe had 4 cases each.

    Dagoretti North, Embakasi East, Kamukunji, Mathare, Roysambu and Ruaraka had 3 cases each.

    Dagoretti South, Embakasi Central, Embakasi North, Embakasi South and Makadara had 2 cases each.
