The incident occurred on Saturday, October 3, 2026, after police received intelligence that the burial of Benson Ouma Ndolo, described by police as a known criminal in the area, could be used as an opportunity by suspected criminals to plan or engage in illegal activities.
Ndolo’s body had arrived at his home at around 10am from Jaramogi Odinga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital. However, youths reportedly removed the body from the homestead and took it to an unknown location.

During the confrontation a police officer, was struck on the right shoulder by a stone. He sustained a slight injury and was treated at Obwolo Dispensary before being discharged in fair condition.
