Anti-narcotics detectives have arrested thirty-three Nigerians in Kasarani for illegally residing in the country.
The men, who were nabbed on Thursday morning, are stated to have been living in the place where the detectives found them.
The anti-narcotics officers were however pursuing leads on an incident in which drugs were being sent from Nairobi to other parts of the world when they arrested the Nigerians.
They were then taken to Kasarani Police Station.
Speaking on the arrests, Kasarani OCPD Peter Kimani noted that the suspects have been posing as students of two universities in the area.
“When they arrived, they declared they were students at the universities but our investigations have shown they are in other illegal businesses,” OCPD Kimani mentioned.
The suspects were later taken to Kiambu Law courts where police hoped to get more time to hold them as further investigations are carried out.
Officer Kimani further revealed that an Eritrean was also arrested during the morning operation.

This, however, is not the first time where Nigerians have been arrested for illegally being in the country.
In 2019, twenty-five Nigerians were also arrested in Kasarani in another operation.
The 25 were later deported by the government.
