Nairobi Gubernatorial elect Mike Sonko has rejected Sh.25 million that was set aside for his inauguration saying it should be used to pay county workers’ salary arrears.

Sonko said that in the previous administration county workers have on many occasions threatened to go on strike due to salary delays.

The flashy politician garnered over 800,000 votes unseating Evans Kidero.

He said he would work towards making Nairobi a better place than he found it.
