    Human Rights Networks Denounce NGO Harrasment By Government

    Coast Human Rights Network have denounced in the strongest term the ongoing NGO harassment of AFRICOG and Kenya Human Rights Commission.

    ”Accused persons should be accorded a chance to be heard as this s a requirement of the law.”

    The had the following demands:

    • That the government guarantee the physical and psychological integrity of Human rights defenders at the KHRC and AFRCOG
    • The government should refrain from capricious legal actions against the two organizations
    • That the government complies with the provisions of International instruments which Kenya is signatory to.

    The NGO board has no jurisdiction over AFRICOG as they are registered as a company and not as an NGO.

    The statement was signed by 23 civil society organizations from the coast region.
