    Covid-19 Cases In Kenya Rise By 431 In 24 Hours

    Kenya has announced 431 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours after 5,846 samples were tested. The country’s caseload is now at 169,356.

    The country’s positivity rate is now at 7.4% with the cumulative tests so far conducted now at 1,792,938.

    Sadly, 10 deaths have been recorded bringing the country’s death toll to 3,097.

    Also, 31 have recovered bringing the cumulative recoveries to 115,844.

    County distribution is as follows: Nairobi 111, Kisumu 67, Siaya 55, Mombasa 38, Migori 20, Kericho 15, Trans Nzoia 15, Uasin Gishu 13, Nakuru 12, Kiambu 11, Kisii 9, Kajiado 9, Busia 8, Homa Bay 8, Marsabit 8, Nandi 4, Machakos 3, Meru 3, Murang’a 3, Kakamega 3, Kitui 3, Taita Taveta 3, Bomet 2, Bungoma 2, Garissa 2, Kirinyaga 2, Laikipia 2, Nyandarua 1, Tharaka Nithi 1 and Kilifi 1.

    As of today, 960,379 Kenyans have been vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus. 291, 259 were aged above 58 years.

    Earlier, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe announced that 2,556,639 children below the age of 5 years have been vaccinated by end of day Tuesday against the targeted 3,455,885.

    “My Ministry in collaboration with WHO has established 17 environmental sites in Nairobi, Mombasa, Garissa, Isiolo and Kisumu counties which have enhanced our ability to detect circulating polio viruses in the community through sewage sampling,” said Kagwe.
