    High Court Lifts Ban On NASA Demonstrations Within The CBD

    The high court has suspended the ban on NASA coalition demonstrations that was put by Acting Interior CS Fred Matiang’i.The Petition was filed by Norman Magaya who  was said to be in hiding as the police were looking to arrest him.

    The High Court has also said that Norman Magaya should not be arrested for organising previous demonstrations

    He was to be charged with organising the demonstrations which have been characterised by violence leading to death,injuries and destruction of properties.

    The Acting CS for Interior banned the demonstrations saying hat the government were protecting Kenyans and property in the three Kenyan cities which were most affected by the demonstrations.

    Norman Magaya in his petition said that the police were using excessive force on the protesters maiming and killing them.

    The NASA coalition had announced that they have called off the demonstrations  on tuesday and will resume on Wednesday.the break is to enable them to visit families that have been bereaved and also the demonstrators that have suffered injuries.
