NHIFThe National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) has provided Kenyans with access to 204 hospitals across the country.

The move will help over 6 million NHIF members access quality healthcare from both public and private facilities.

“The newly added facilities met the requirements for accreditation and the Fund is set to sign contracts with them so that they start offering services. We are geared towards providing more services and the more the hospitals the more the access to quality healthcare,” NHIF chief executive Geoffrey Mwangi said.

As a result several top facilities across the country are expected to offer a variety of inpatient and outpatient services.

Earlier this year, NHIF was forced to investigate hospitals after reports emerged that several health facilities were committing fraud.
