Nyashinski might have taken his loss of the MTV EMA Best African Act to Nigeria’s Davido in stride and even congratulated him but “Netizens” have a conspiracy theory on why he lost.

Claims are rife on Social Media that President Uhuru Kenyatta’s vote and public acknowledgment of the same through a tweet might have cost the Malaika hit maker the coveted title as this made “NASA affiliated” voters shy away from voting for Nyashinski.

The singer, rapper and song writer was widely touted as a potential winner having churned acclaimed tunes since he made his comeback as a solo artist after a hiatus.

Details now emerge that while Uhuru openly rooted for the former Kleptomaniacs group member, NASA leader Raila Odinga secretly stumped for Israeli born crooner Gilad Millo who was nominated for the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).

Millo went ahead and worn awards for Best Male Artiste in Inspirational Music and Best Artiste in African Rock thus bagging two 23.9 Carat plaited gold AFRIMA awards.

He alongside Tanzania’s Alikiba are among East African musicians who were feted in the event that went down on Friday night (November 10th) at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.

Nyashinski was battling it out with heavyweights Wizkid, Nasty C, Davido, C4Pedro and Babes Wodumo.
