Kenya Airways have filed notice of appeal against a court ruling demanding that the National Carrier reinstates it embattled ex Finance Director, Alex Mbugua.
The Airline’s chairman and former Safaricom CEO Michael Joseph according to Business Daily said KQ has moved to the Court of Appeal against the ruling by the Labour and Employment department of High Court made by Justice Monica Mbaru.
The Court further ordered that he be compensated his salary for the three years he was out of job totaling to Sh144million shillings.

Mbugua had moved to court to challenge his ‘irregular’ dismissal. However, when he went back to work, he was slapped with a 21 days compulsory leave as his employer deliberated its next move that has now emerged as an appeal.
“I was blocked from driving into the employees’ parking lot or walking to my office. I was instead instructed to wait at the security bay,” Mbugua had earlier said.
Mbugua had termed his sacking as move by top creme to camouflage massive plunder and that he was a whistle blower turned into scapegoat.
