    Media Fraternity Mourns Renowned Radio Presenter Agao Patrobas

    The late Agao Patrobas

    Known for his unique and commanding voice, stellar comprehension of Rhumba music and an impressive career that span over 30 years, the media fraternity mourns radio journalist Agao Patrobas.

    Patrobas, 69 died today at the Nairobi Women’s hospital after he had taken ill. Sources say he collapsed on Sunday and was rushed to Jamaa Hospital in Nairobi’s Uhuru estate before being transferred to Nairobi Women’s where he passed on.

    Papa as he was fondly referred to by his fans was born on September 23, 1948 and had worked for leading broadcasters including Voice of Kenya (now KBC), the British Broadcasting Cooperation (BBC) and Ramogi FM of Royal Media Services where he hosted a popular Rhumba show and anchored news.

    So popular was his show that when at some point Royal media laid him off alongside other, popular demand made them recall him back.

    His colleagues have hailed him saying he was committed reliable and dedicated to his work. work.

    “He was also one of the most original broadcasters the country has ever had,” Royal Media Services Programmes Director Mr Fred Afune said.
