    NASA Leader Raila Odinga

NASA leader Raila Odinga has dared Jubilee Administration to shoot him instead of his supporters.

The NASA Supremo was speaking on Friday evening at Laico Regency where the Coalition’s leadership and all Kenyans of goodwill met to fund raise for those killed during Odinga’s chaotic homecoming.

“If the problem is Raila, arrest me, shoot me; but do not kill young Kenyans leaving behind young families and children ending up orphans,” he said.

His speech elicited emotions with chants of “let them try,” emanating from the crowd.

The coalition published the names and photos of the victims of police brutality and violence in November 24 edition of a section of Kenya’s daily newspapers.

Odinga rebuked the killing of people youth who were mostly aged between 20 to 29, noting they were young and had bright futures. Police had denied the deceased had been shot by police saying they were cases of mob justice but report by Government pathologist Johansen Oduor said they operated on 18 people of which 10 died of bullet wounds.

“Why did they have to die?” Odinga questioned and said the onus of answering the question lied with the government. The former Premier also revealed tat he had an option of staying in America and was saddened by the events that met his return.

“I feel so sad that I had to come back home yet I should have stayed in the United States of America. People who came out to welcome me back home were met with tear gas, water cannons, live bullets,” Odinga said.

The ODM leader told Uhuru to apply President Jomo Kenyatta’s (Uhuru’s late father) Modus Operandi and ” arrest me at the airport and take me to detention as your father (sic) used to do and spare innocent people by a regime that has gone crazy.”

The NASA leader is also expected to lead a parallel rally to Uhuru’s swearing in at Jacaranda in Embakasi after Nairobi County cordoned off Uhuru park.

The rally, Odinga said will be a in honour of victims of police brutality.

Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua has appealed to the Opposition coalition, National Super Alliance (NASA) to shelve their planned rally scheduled for next week Tuesday to coincide with the swearing-in ceremony.

He, however, indicated that if the Opposition decides to go on with their planned rally it will not in any way overshadow the day’s big event and urged the leadership and supporters of the coalition to respect the Constitution.

“The President will be sworn-in and any other function that would be held during that day would be me like Kinyua taking tea somewhere and indeed as a Kenyan, I am free to have my own function but that will not be historic,” said Kinyua.

The NASA leadership has remained insistent that Kenyatta’s presidency is illegitimate and vowed to organize a meeting at Uhuru Park next Tuesday where Odinga is expected to be endorsed as the People’s President.
