    Mutula Kilonzo Jr Proposes A Bill To Allow Kenyans Hoist Flags In Their Residences

    Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jr has sponsored a bill seeking to amend The National flag, Emblems and Names Act to allow the public to fly the flags  at their various residence,work place or businesses.

    The Wiper Senator said that the flag is a symbol of National unity and should not be used to distinguish people.

    “Yes I proposed the amendments because the flag should not be used to distinguish people but rather it is a symbol of National Unity,”said Kilonzo.

    He also affirmed that Kenyans should be allowed to hoist the national flag during national celebrations for example when Harambee stars are playing, Kenyans should be allowed to raise the flag and celebrate them and while mourning to express their pain.

    “I proposed this bill before the elections in order to avoid the divisions the country is currently facing. Every Kenyan identifies with the flag,” he added.
