Bungoma Senator, Moses Wetangula could be warming up to Deputy President William Ruto who is set to succeed his boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta come 2022.

Sources close to the leader of minority in the senate say that Water CS Eugene Wamalwa has been tasked with bringing on board Western leaders allied to NASA amongst them Bungoma Governor, Wycliffe Wangamati, a member of Ford Kenya.

DP Ruto since 2014 till August 2017 has been in the vote rich Western region over 50 times which saw the Jubilee party bag at least four parliamentary seats; Webuye West, Kimilili, Mt Elgon and Sirisia.

Also important to note is that, Bumula MP, Moses Wekesa Mabonga who ran as an independent candidate after losing in the Ford Kenya primaries to Jack Wamboka, recently joined the ruling party.

Even after calls by the opposition to county bosses to boycott Jamhuri day celebrations, Governor Wangamati presided over the fete at Pan paper Grounds, Webuye.

A day later, the Governor was spotted at Maji House in what analysts have termed as ‘mkutano wa kuleta maendeleo kwa watu wa Bungoma.’

Following suit is yet another Ford Kenya Governor Patrick Khaemba who recently met Ruto, who is not leaving anything to chance.

On Friday, the DP was seen with the legislator in what seems to have been a ‘warm discussion’ during Francis Nyenze’s memorial service.

It has been said that Ford Kenya and Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper party played a part in putting on hold Raila Odinga’s swearing in ceremony.

Sources say that politicians from the two parties developed cold feet, hence the swearing in that never was.

Ruto has been headhunting governors from the opposition and ODM to be precise. For instance, Taita Taveta Governor, Granton Samboja during the campaigns leading to the repeat polls vowed to work with the government.

Also on the ‘hustler’s’ radar are Kisii and Nyamira governors; James Ongwae and John Nyagarama respectively.
