    Nyenze’s Widow Clinches Wiper Ticket Ahead Of Kitui West By Election

    Edith Nyenze wife of the late Kitui west MP will be the front runner for Wiper Party in the by election slated for March 26.

    She got the party ticket after trouncing  competitor Mwendwa Maluki at the nominations. Though only 31 percent of the 52000 registered voters turned up for the nominations, Edith Nyenze managed to garner 13388 votes against Mwendwa Maluki’s 2663 votes.

    The Wiper party is popular in the area and whoever is seen to get the party ticket is considered to have partly won the election.

    Edith Nyenze will be taking over after her late husband Francis Nyenze who died barely five months after his reelection on August 8.

    Her competitor was  the son of former cabinet secretary Nyiva Mwendwa and Former Kitui West Mp Kitili Mwendwa.
