Citizen TV and Radio have apparently been switched off in most parts of the country ahead of Raila Odinga’s ‘oath’ taking ceremony scheduled to take place at 10am.
Citizen has been switched off on all platforms including paid platforms.
NTV on the other hand has been switched off on all free to air platforms.
Communications Authority officials are said to have switched off the all the ADN transmitting systems in Limuru on Tuesday morning.

On Monday, Kenya Editors’ Guild chairperson, Linus Kaikai accused the government, led by President Kenyatta of ‘expressly threatening to shut down and revoke the licences of any media house that will broadcast live the planned purported swearing in of NASA leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka.’
But the vice chair of the editors’ guild, Samuel Kamau distanced himself from Kaikai’s statement saying that ‘at no point were any threats issued to media houses or any ultimatums given on how we choose to broadcast matters of public interest, or those relating to the current political situation in the country.’
Royal Media Managing Director, Wachira Waruru says that they are in contact with relevant government authorities and hope to resume normal transmission shortly.
