    Okiya Omtatah Moves To Court To Petition Against The Media Shut Down

    Okiya Omtatah has moved to court to sue interior cabinet secretary Fred Matiang’i  and the ICT cabinet secretary Joe Mucheru for the media shut down.

    Okiya has asked the court to compel the communications authority to restore transmission.

    Okiya said that he would like the media houses be compensated for loss incurred during the switch off.

    He has also said that the switch off was a contravention of article 34 of the constitution.

    The members of the civil society have also demanded that the transmission is restored pending investigation . They have also demanded that  NTV reporters Larry Madowo and Ken Mijungu alingside senior editor Linus Kaikai not be arrested for airing the swearing in of the NASA leader  Raila Odinga

    Eric Oduor from the Kenya union of journalist have said they are ready to be arrested alongside their members.
