louis otieno, mdoeNASA leaders have come to former media personality, Louis Otieno’s aid as well as Citizen TV’s Swaleh Mdoe.

Speaking on Friday during ODM’s National Governing Council meeting, Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo said that the coalition would do whatever it can to help the two.

Louis lost his hearing while undergoing treatment for acute pancreatitis and is now in need of electronic ear implants that will cost him approximately Sh4 million.

“Our attention has been brought to the plight of Louis Otieno, who was a top media personality in Kenya, and we want to say as concerned members of parliament, that we are going to support him in whichever little way that we can,” Ms Odhiambo said.

The opposition leaders will also be helping out Swaleh who recently announced that he was ‘broke’ and was willing to sell one of his kidneys to meet his financial needs.

“Yes, I’m broke and that is a fact of life. I have pressing financial issues that need to be resolved and the bank cannot top up and help me,” Swaleh told the Star.

Noting that they (MPs) were not sure whether the Swahili news anchor’s story was viable or not, Ms Odhiambo said that they would come through for him as well.

“We want to encourage him not to sell his kidney… We are going to join with his family and friends to see what we can do to help,” she added.

Also making the pledge was Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo and Embakasi East’s Babu Owino.
