The National police service has place a Sh.1million shillings on Timothy Kiptanui who is suspected to be the leader of the gang behind the Mt Elgon attacks.

There has been unrest, robberies and murders in the area over the past months over. The gang’s operations have similarities to the operations of Sabaot land Defense Force (SLDF) that was destroyed three years ago.

Fred Matiang’i the CS interior who recently visited the area declared a 6a.m to 6p.m  curfew in the area so that the police can at least try to reduce the menace.

The police have asked the members of the public to report any information that might lead to the arrest of Timothy Kiptanui and call the numbers provided.
