    Man found dead with arrow lodged in throat at Railways estate, Nairobi

    A middle-aged man was found dead with an arrow lodged in his throat in Nairobi’s Railways estate.

    Police said residents stumbled on the body on April 9 long after he had died.

    The deceased’s body was found in a pool of blood that was oozing from the mouth and nose.

    On further examination, the deceased had an arrow lodged in the throat, police said.

    He is believed to have been killed at the scene, police said adding no arrest had been made so far.

    Police said they are investigating murder in the incident. The body was moved to the mortuary pending identification and autopsy.

    In Ojimbo area, Makadara, a male body was found near the local railway line.

    Police who visited the scene said the body had strangulation marks caused by a jumper cord and done by unknown persons.

    There were also visible physical injuries on the head inflicted by a blunt object.

    The deceased was yet to be identified and the body was moved to the mortuary pending identification and autopsy.

    Elsewhere in Taita Taveta, one Vincent Otieno Odongo, 35 was attacked and killed by a hippopotamus while illegally fishing at Lake Jipe.

    The deceased was in the company of another fisherman who escaped.

    Police visited the scene and found the body hooked by fishing net and floating on the water.

    The body was retrieved and moved to Taveta Sub-County Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.

    The lake has many dangerous hippopotamus and fishing has been banned there, officials said.

    And in Navakholo, Kakamega County, the body of one Hellen Nakaya Wasike, 67 was found in a stream after a drowning incident.

    Locals had reported the woman was missing after she was swept downstream in Musagaa village.

    They them mounted a search before the body was found trapped within stones in the water.

    The woman was still holding her handbag when the body was found and retrieved.

    The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.

    Police said two other drowning incidents were reported separately in Busia and Mombasa. The police are investigating possible suicide and murder in the incidents.
