At least six people were found dead in separate incidents after suspected suicide missions.

The majority of the victims were men, police said.

There has been an increase in cases of suicide incidents, statistics show.

The first incident happened in Mirangine, Nyandarua where one Benson Nyaramba Mwangi, 23 was found dead and the body hanging from a tree on his fathers land.

The body was discovered on May 12 and was moved to JM Kariuki Hospital Mortuary, Olkakau, awaiting postmortem.

In Port Victoria, Busia, one Cosmas Okotsi Bwire, 79 was found dangling from the roof truss with a wire tied around his neck inside his house within Siginga village.

The body with no visible injuries was moved to Port Victoria General Hospital mortuary, awaiting postmortem.

In Ekerenyo, Nyamira County the body Shem Maoga Nyamao , 52 was found hanging from a tree at Nyabitango village in May 10.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.

In Tabaka, Kisii County at Ikoba trading centre, the body of a ten year old boy was found hanging from a door frame inside his elder brother’s incomplete house with a sisal rope tied around his neck.

Preliminary investigation indicated that the deceased was last seen alive by his mother on May 11 and was instructed to take a bath and wash his dirty clothes.

He washed the clothes and wore them while wet and left home for an unknown place.

It was until when the body was found.

The body with no visible injuries was moved to Tabaka Mission Hospital mortuary, awaiting postmortem.

In Kandara, Muranga County, one Peter Kinuthia Njuguna, 54 was found dead in his kitchen after suicide mission.

His body was found hanging on a sisal rope on May 11.

The body was moved to Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home, Kabati, awaiting postmortem.

In Mutomo, Kitui County, one Willy Musango, 48 died by suicide after swallowing a poisonous chemical.

Police said they recovered a 250 ml empty bottle of Termitop 450 EC next to his body, which had foam coming from the mouth. The body was moved to Mutomo Level Four mortuary awaiting postmortem.

Cases of suicide have been on the rise.

Police say the trend has been worrying and increasing as up to two cases are reported daily.

The World Health Organisation says such cases are attributed to joblessness, death, academic failures or pressures, legal difficulties and financial difficulties.

Other reasons are bullying, previous suicide attempts, history of suicide in a family, alcoholism and substance misuse, depression and bipolar disorder.
