Five suspects were arrested and a Ceska pistol with 15 bullets found on them in Oloropil Location within Narok North Sub County.
The suspects were wanted over a murder incident that happened in Njoro in March 2025, police said.
Police said they are investigating to establish if the weapon has been used in more crimes in the country. The group was later picked up by officers from Njoro following their arrest on Thursday evening.
One of the suspects identified as Josphat Mpoe is a licensed firearm holder, police said.
Meanwhile, police are investigating two separate sudden death incidents.
The first incident was reported in Bungoma where the body of Eliud Luyodi, who lived alone in the farmhouse tending the sugarcane farm was found dead. The house was locked from the inside. Locals broke into the house and found the body lying on bed.
In Dago area, Kisumu, a man died after collapsing in his house. The man identified as Charles Kinyanjui, 25 collapsed in the house in the presence of his wife on May 20.
The wife said she thought he was pretending when he collapsed. The wife told police she thought the deceased was acting.
The family later realized he had died. The body, which had no visible injuries, was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
Meanwhile, police are investigating an incident where a six-year-old girl drowned in a well in Opapo Village, Rongo, Migori County.
The child was alone in their rented house when she ventured into an open well near there. The child’s parents had left her in the house and left for manual works in the area when the incident happened.
The body was moved to a local mortuary pending postmortem.
