    Siblings

Jude has one sibling, his older sister, Natasha Law, who is three years his senior.

Born in 1969, Natasha is an accomplished illustrator, graphic designer, and artist based in London.

Unlike her brother, who pursued a career in acting, Natasha has carved out her own path in the visual arts.

Her work often explores themes of femininity, identity, and human connection, blending bold colors and delicate lines in mediums such as collage, painting, and digital design.

Natasha’s art has been exhibited in galleries across London and internationally, and she has collaborated with brands and publications.

    Career

Law’s career began in the late 1980s with the National Youth Music Theatre, where he performed in productions like The Ragged Child and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

By age 17, he dropped out of school to pursue acting full-time, landing a role in the British soap opera Families (1990).

His breakthrough came with The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999), where he played the charming Dickie Greenleaf, a role that showcased his ability to embody both allure and depth.

The 2000s saw Law tackle diverse roles in films like A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001), Road to Perdition (2002), Cold Mountain (2003), Closer (2004), and The Holiday (2006).

He became a global star with his portrayal of Dr. John Watson in Sherlock Holmes (2009) and its sequel (2011).

Law’s later roles included a young Albus Dumbledore in the Fantastic Beasts series (2018–2022), Yon-Rogg in Captain Marvel (2019), and a lead in the Disney+ series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew (2024).

Beyond film, Law has maintained a strong stage presence, earning Tony Award nominations for his Broadway performances in Les Parents terribles (1994) and Hamlet (2010).

He co-founded the production company Natural Nylon with Ewan McGregor and Sadie Frost, producing films like eXistenZ (1999).

    Accolades

Law won the Evening Standard British Film Award and a London Film Critics Circle Award for his portrayal of Lord Alfred Douglas in Wilde (1997).

His stage work has also been celebrated, with nominations for the Laurence Olivier Award for Les Parents terribles (1994) and two Tony Awards for Les Parents terribles and Hamlet.

In recognition of his contributions to the arts, Law received the Honorary César in 2010 and was named a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government.
