Lewis Singwah Tan, born on February 4, 1987, in Salford, Greater Manchester, England, is a British-American actor, martial artist, and model.

The son of Philip Tan, a Chinese Singaporean martial artist, actor, and stunt coordinator, and Joanne Cassidy, a retired British fashion model, Lewis was exposed to the worlds of performance and physical discipline from a young age.

His family relocated to Los Angeles when he was one, following his father’s appointment as a fight coordinator for Tim Burton’s 1989 film Batman.

Growing up in a creative and diverse environment, with stints living in China, France, and Spain, Lewis developed a global perspective that informs his work.

Trained in martial arts by his father and in theater during his teens, he combines physical prowess with emotional depth, making him a standout in action-packed roles and dramatic performances alike.

His breakout came in 2018 with the role of Gaius Chau in the third season of AMC’s Into the Badlands, earning praise for his compelling performance.

That same year, he played Shatterstar in the Marvel film Deadpool 2, showcasing his ability to blend humor, action, and charisma.
