Two police officers were Wednesday arrested over claims of robbery with violence at a home in Mirema area, Kasarani, Nairobi.

A motorist reported that he was confronted by three men armed with AK47 rifles as he drove to his house on October 19, 2025. The men were driving in a Subaru Forester car with private registration numbers.

The complainant told police he was confronted while parking his motor vehicle outside his house along Mirema drive.

The gunmen then directed the complainant to take them to his house and on reaching there they directed him to his bedroom and ordered him to open the safe which contained travel documents and cash USD16,000.

They counted the money before escorting him to their motor vehicle and later sped off towards Lumumba drive.

The man said the officers later abandoned him at Jessekay Hospital area before he later took a boda boda back to his house and later reported the matter at Kasarani police station.

Police pursued the matter and later established the suspects were fellow officers attached to the DCI headquarters.

They were arrested pending further processing. Police termed the incident isolated and vowed justice.

The police say the incident should not be used to judge the service and that they have mechanisms of addressing such rogue officers.

Elsewhere, police in Vihiga are investigating an incident where a businessman running a supermarket was robbed of Sh150,000 in an attack.

The man runs a supermarket in Maseno Town. He told police that he left for Mbale Town in a private car on Wednesday when he was attacked at Bukuga on the Luanda-Majengo road.

A private car blocked his car before four men came out while armed with a pistol as they ordered him to get out.

One of them grabbed a bag that had the cash and his mobile phone before they jumped back to the car and drove off.

Police chased the get-away car in vain. Western police commander Issa Mohamud said they are pursuing the gang.

And police in Matungulu, Machakos County are investigating the recovery of a G3 rifle from a construction site.

The rifle had earlier in August, 2025 been reported to have been stolen from Kinyui police post in the area.

On October 21, 2025, a mason at a construction site reported children who were playing there alerted him there was something wrapped in a sack and buried in ballast.

He, out of curiosity checked on the sack and confirmed it contained a rifle.

The police were called to the scene and picked up the weapon for analysis and investigations.

No arrest has been made so far.
