Saraya Jade Bevis, born on August 17, 1992, in Norwich, Norfolk, England, is a prominent English professional wrestler, actress, and entrepreneur best known by her ring names Paige in WWE and Saraya in All Elite Wrestling (AEW).
Growing up in a family deeply immersed in the wrestling world, Bevis was exposed to the sport from a young age, making her debut in the ring at just 13 years old.
Her unique gothic persona and powerful in-ring style quickly set her apart, leading to a groundbreaking career that challenged gender norms in professional wrestling.
Beyond the squared circle, Bevis has ventured into acting, appearing in films and television shows inspired by her own life, and she has built a personal brand that includes clothing lines and cosmetics.
Siblings
Saraya’s eldest sibling is her half-brother Roy Bevis, born on February 26, 1981, in Norwich, who performs under the ring names Roy Knight and the Zebra Kid.
Roy, the son of her father Patrick Bevis from a previous relationship, has been a staple in the British independent wrestling scene, particularly with the family’s World Association of Wrestling (WAW) promotion, where he has held multiple championships and trained alongside his siblings.
Known for his technical prowess and high-flying maneuvers, Roy has faced personal challenges, including struggles with alcohol addiction, during which Saraya provided unwavering support, calling him daily for two months in 2023 to help him through a difficult period.
He has three children, including nephew Ricky Bevis, who is also entering the wrestling world.
Her other brother, Zak Harley Bevis (born Zak Frary on May 29, 1991), is a full sibling two years her senior and wrestles as Zak Zodiac or Zak Knight.
Zak debuted in the family-run WAW at age 10 and has built a career competing against relatives, including matches against Saraya during her early days.
Like his sister, he tried out for WWE in 2011 but pursued opportunities in AEW and Ring of Honor (ROH), where he joined Saraya’s stable The Outcasts in late 2023.
Career
Trained at the WAW Academy by her parents and family members like Klondyke Kate and Jason Cross, Saraya debuted as Britani Knight in 2005 at age 13 for her family’s promotion, teaming with her mother in matches that showcased her potential.
By 2009, she was capturing titles such as the Herts and Essex Wrestling (HEW) Women’s Championship and the WAW British Championship, often defending them against her mother in intense family feuds.
Her international breakthrough came in 2011 with Shimmer Women Athletes in the U.S., where she and her mother formed the Knight Dynasty tag team, managed by Rebecca Knox, defeating opponents like Nikki Roxx and Ariel before Britani turned on her mother in a no-disqualification match.

Bevis signed with WWE in September 2011, assigned to Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), where she debuted as Saraya before adopting the ring name Paige in homage to a Charmed character.
Her NXT tenure from 2012 onward was revolutionary; she became the inaugural NXT Women’s Champion in 2013, holding it for 301 days and defending against top talents like Emma and Charlotte Flair.
Called up to the main roster in 2014, Paige made history as the youngest WWE Divas Champion at 21, defeating AJ Lee on her debut episode of Raw.
She transitioned to the WWE Women’s Championship era, aligning with Becky Lynch and Charlotte in Team PCB to elevate the division.
Injuries, including a neck issue in 2017 that forced her 2018 retirement, tested her resolve, but she pivoted to on-screen roles as a general manager and producer.
Returning to the independents as Saraya, she signed with AEW in 2022, winning the AEW Women’s World Championship in her debut match against Britt Baker at Full Gear, becoming the first woman to win a world title in her promotional debut.
As leader of The Outcasts stable, featuring Ruby Soho and Toni Storm, she feuded with top stars like Jamie Hayter and Hikaru Shida.
Saraya’s AEW run included family cameos, with brothers Roy and Zak appearing in support.
In November 2024, she announced a hiatus for other projects, culminating in her March 2025 departure from AEW after nearly three years.
Her acting credits include the biographical film Fighting with My Family (2019), where Florence Pugh portrayed her, and guest spots on shows like Total Divas and Ridiculousness.
Entrepreneurially, she launched The Saraya Store clothing line in 2017 and Saraya Jade Cosmetics in 2018, partnering with Hot Topic for exclusive collections.
Accolades
In WWE, Saraya etched her name in history as the inaugural NXT Women’s Champion, a title she held for a record 301 days from August 2013 to June 2014, defending it against challengers like Bayley and laying the foundation for NXT’s women’s division.
She captured the WWE Divas Championship twice, first in 2014 as the youngest champion at age 21, dethroning AJ Lee in a shocking debut win on Raw, and again later that year, before unifying it into the WWE Women’s Championship era.
Bevis is the only wrestler to hold both the NXT Women’s and WWE Divas Championships simultaneously, a feat accomplished in 2014.
Her crowning achievement in AEW came swiftly in 2022, when she won the AEW Women’s World Championship in her in-ring debut at Full Gear against Britt Baker, holding it for 76 days and solidifying her as a top draw.
On the independent circuit, particularly in the UK, she amassed titles including the WAW Women’s Championship, HEW Women’s Championship, and Shimmer Championship, often in high-stakes matches against family and rivals like Jetta.
Beyond championships, Bevis topped Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s Female 50 rankings in 2014 and was named Rolling Stone’s Diva of the Year that same year, recognizing her impact on elevating women’s wrestling.
Her story inspired the acclaimed 2019 film Fighting with My Family, based on a 2012 documentary, earning praise for highlighting her journey from Norwich’s indie scene to global stardom.
