A 60-year-old man was stabbed and killed in an attack in Murkan area, Emurua Dikirr, Narok County.
The incident happened on Saturday during a local traditional event and left one Joel Langat dead, police said.
The assailant was arrested at the scene and detained pending questioning and arraignment.
The motive of the stabbing was not immediately known.
Police said the two had argued before the assailant reached for a knife that he used to stab Langat in the neck, killing him.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.
Elsewhere in Menengai, Nakuru County, a man was fatally chopped by a machine at a quarry.
Police said Peter Mwangi Ichungwah was operating a stone cutting machine when the blades cut and dismembered his right leg at the knee and groin.
He died while being taken to the hospital, police said.

In Lunyerere, Vihiga County, a body of a man was found lying on the roadside after a suspected murder. Police said the man was about 40 years old. His body lay on the road near a local water plant. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and identification.
In Tongareni, Bungoma County, one Lumbuku Marani,52 was found dead in his house. Police and locals said the man had been unwell for some time. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
And a suspect was arrested for murder over the death of one Victor Kimani Wamucii in Ngarariga area, Limuru, Kiambu County on November 20, 2025. Wamucii had been circumcised and was under the care of the suspect when he was found dead.
Police said the suspect tortured Wamucii in the name of mentorship. He died in a house he was healing from the circumcision
The police managed to arrest the suspect a month later following investigations.
