The late CEO of IT solutions company Com Twenty One Evans Mwaura Githua will be cremated on Christmas Day.
A family friend said he had left a will showing he should be cremated 24 hours after his death.
The event will be attended by a few close friends and family members.
An autopsy was conducted on the body but details on the cause of the death were not disclosed. Few family members and friends attended a requiem mass for Githua at a Nairobi church on Wednesday Christmas Eve ahead of the planned cremation.
“Few friends and family members who were in Nairobi attended. Most people had traveled for Christmas festivities,” said a relative aware of the developments.
Githua is believed to have jumped from the 14th floor of a building along Kasuku Road in Nairobi in a suicide mission.
Police believe Githua, 51 died after he jumped off from the 14th floor of a short stay room with an aim of dying.
He had also injured himself by cutting his veins in the hands. He was alone then. He is said to have done an email to a friend and lawyer with details on key issues including his passwords.
The motive of the suicide is not clear.
Githua’s body was naked when it was discovered on December 23, 2025 afternoon behind the Alba Apartment. He was a fairly rich entrepreneur.
He had arrived at the apartment aboard a taxi. Police have reviewed security cameras to the house and room and concluded he was alone and died by suicide.
Entry into his room was gained by breaking the door since it was closed from inside, police who had been informed of the incident said.
His body had visible injuries, which included broken right leg, head injury, injuries on both wrists which appeared to have been inflicted by a sharp object/material and deep hand cut.
Upon close observation and scrutiny of the bedsitter room it was established that there was a pool of blood spilled all over the room to the washrooms, wardrobes and bed with the entire room being disturbed.
One of the seats was found in the shower area with a towel pointing attempts of suicide, police said.
Police recovered clothes, two mobile phones all put on flight mode, wallet, empty bottle of Bacardi alcoholic drink, xylocaine spray, scarpel, fork with residue, lemon water with yellowish liquid, two tablets, empty monster can, black flask with clear liquid, black flask with a wet paste and a bag containing personal effects.
The owner of the room informed police that the deceased checked into the apartment on December 22, 2025 at 2054 hrs alone.
The family of the deceased said they were worried he did not go home on Monday and his mobile phones were offline which was unusual.
Police concluded he died by suicide through blood loss by cutting his veins and later throwing himself through the window.
The news of the death shocked many. He had not shown signs of stress as he had even secured major businesses.
