A man surrendered to police after he had hacked and killed his wife in a domestic fight in Emusonga village, Kakamega County.

The man told police he quarreled with the wife identified as Diana Ngala, 30 before he picked up a mattock which he used to hack her fatally.

The incident happened on Christmas Day. The two had been quarreling in their house before it went physical and fatal.

The man then walked to the nearby police station where he surrendered and confessed to the murder.

He led police to the scene where the body was found lying in a pool of blood and with a deep cut in the head.

The mattock believed to have been used in the murder was recovered at the scene and kept as an exhibit, police said.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

Elsewhere, a herds boy was fatally slashed in an incident in Kimilili, Bungoma County.

The assailants escaped on foot as the deceased’s friends also scampered for their safety to a nearby church.

He sustained a deep cut on the back of his head.

His body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

Police said they were pursuing known suspects in the murder.

In Masogo, Kisumu County, one Nimrod Aketch Juma, 22 was found lying on the road after suspected murder.

His body was found on the Masogo-Kibogori road at Nyakoko junction on Christmas Eve, police said.
