A woman was arrested after the bodies of her two minors were found wrapped in a piece of cloth in Bomocharu village, Tabaka, Kisii County.

The minors who were both boys were aged five and seven. Their bodies were found wrapped in a piece of cloth and placed outside their house long after they had died.

They are believed to have been fed with poison, villagers said of the January 10 incident.

The motive of the incident was not known, police said as they moved the bodies to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

Their mother was detained pending interrogation, police said.

Elsewhere, police are investigating an incident where a human skull was found dumped near a school in Ruai’s Kamulu area, Nairobi.

The skull seemed to have been delivered to the scene, police said, adding it was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.

In Tinganga area, Kiambu County, a suspect was stoned to death after he was allegedly found stealing arrow roots from a piece of land. The suspect was stoned to death and his body set on fire, police said adding they were investigating murder in the incident. The body of Phineas Kubai, 39 was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.

Police said mob lynching is criminal and want suspects to be surrendered for processing and possible prosecution.

Another mob lynching incident was reported in Tala, Machakos County, police said adding the victim was accused of being a cattle thief.

Meanwhile, a miner was killed at a gold mine site in Oyugis, Homa Bay County.

The victim was identified as Victor Okoth, 26. He had ventured into a gold mining site when the walls collapsed and trapped him.

The body was later retrieved and moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

This is the latest such incident to happen in the gold mining quarries amid efforts to address the menace. Dozens of miners were killed in similar incidents last year alone, officials say.
