Security agencies have arrested a wanted robbery suspect in Mtwapa as part of an ongoing crackdown targeting criminal gangs across the Coast region.

David Juma Mweru, who had reportedly been on the run for some time, was apprehended following a targeted operation by detectives acting on intelligence. Authorities say the suspect had allegedly been linked to a string of robbery incidents and had repeatedly changed locations to avoid arrest.

Officers cornered and arrested him without resistance. During a search at his residence, detectives recovered five rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition concealed inside a yellow carrier bag. The discovery has raised concerns about possible planned violent activity, although investigators say inquiries are still ongoing.
