A building collapsed on Monday at Blue Estate in Shaurimoyo, Kamukunji Sub-County, after an attempted demolition earlier in the day.
According to a statement from Nairobi North County Commissioner Simon Osumba, the structure was among buildings located along the riparian corridor of the Nairobi River that had been earmarked for removal under the Nairobi Rivers Commission-led Nairobi River Regeneration Project.
Authorities said there are fears that some individuals may still be trapped under the debris following the collapse.
Emergency response teams drawn from the Kenya Defence Forces, National Police Service, National Government Administrative Officers, and the Kenya Red Cross Society were quickly deployed to the scene, where search and rescue operations are currently underway.
So far, two people have been rescued from the collapsed wall.
One of the victims sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment, while the other was unharmed.

The Office of the County Commissioner for Nairobi North is monitoring the situation closely and said further updates will be issued as rescue and assessment operations continue.
Authorities have urged members of the public to keep away from the affected area to allow emergency teams to carry out their work without obstruction.
The team is working on the river to make it clean and habitable.
