Authorities have been urged to expedite investigations and apprehend remaining suspects linked to the recent attack on Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi, following the arrest of three individuals in connection with the incident.

In a formal communication to the National Police Service, Siaya Governor James Orengo commended the police for the arrests, describing the move as a positive step toward ensuring justice.

However, he expressed concern that several suspects allegedly involved in the attack are still at large.

Of particular concern, according to the letter, is the continued freedom of an alleged ringleader identified as Willis Akoth, also known as “Boi Akoth.”

The communication claims that CCTV footage and photographic evidence place him at the scene of the incident, where he is allegedly seen coordinating the group involved in the attack.

The letter dated April 10 further alleges that the suspect has previously been linked to disturbances at the Grand Royal Swiss Hotel and Kisumu International Airport, though these claims have not been independently verified by authorities.

It also raises concerns over the alleged involvement of another individual, who is said to have appeared in circulating social media images alongside persons linked to the incident.

There is also need to take action on Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo who has been mentioned in the saga, the letter said.

The letter calls for thorough investigations into his possible role.

Orengo warned that the failure to apprehend all those involved could pose a risk to public order, urging police to act swiftly to prevent further security breaches.

The National Police Service has not yet issued an official response regarding the latest appeal. Investigations into the attack on Senator Osotsi are ongoing.

The attack on Osotsi has drawn widespread condemnation amid calls for action to address goonism.

There is lack of goodwill from authorities in addressing the menace.
