Police are investigating after a drone crashed into the compound of the French School in Nairobi’s Kilimani area on Friday morning.
According to officials, the incident occurred at about 11:33 a.m. at the school located along Arwings Kodhek Road, next to Yaya Centre.
The school’s head of security alerted police after the drone fell within the school compound.
Officers who responded to the scene confirmed that a drone had crashed at the premises.
The device was recovered and taken into police custody as an exhibit.
The incident caused panic as police visited the scene for investigations.
Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) personnel visited and processed the scene as investigations continue to establish the circumstances that led to the drone crash. No injuries or damage were reported in the initial police report.
The school is regarded elite and is heavily guarded. Police said they were working with other agencies to establish the owner of the gadget. All drones are registered in the country.
