    ‘Am Not Aware Of A Cabinet Reshuffle,’ State House Spokesperson Affirms As She Announces President Kenyatta’s Meeting With US President Trump

    President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to meet US president Donald Trump at the White House on August 27.

    The purpose of the meeting will be to foster partnership by broadening discussions on both countries democratic values and mutual interests. The meeting would also reaffirm the longstanding partnership between the two countries.

    “The meeting between the two leaders will reaffirm the longstanding relationship between the United States and Kenya as a cornerstone of peace and stability in Africa and the broader Indo-Pacific region,” the statement read.

    The two leaders last met at the start of G7 summit in Italy in May, 2017.

    The  State House spokesperson also announced that the president is Mombasa to inspect on going projects which he had earlier initiated. During the briefing she dispelled rumors of the much anticipated cabinet reshuffle saying that it was news to her.

    She said that the president had just arrived from South Sudan and was already at work. Kenyans had expected that president Uhuru Kenyatta would make the statement.

    He is expected to attend and address the teachers event that will be held at the Pride Inn Hotel in Mombasa.
