Best Lady shop along Digo Road in Mombasa are decrying mistreatment by the county government, who dump construction materials at the doorstep of their shop in the name of doing road repairs.

According to a worker who spoke to Kahawa Tungu about it, he says that the shop appealed an order given by the County Government of Mombasa ordering them to change colours, which would make them lose brand identity.

“Every morning, the county we find a heap of mjego (construction)wastes dumped at the entrance by city trucks in the name of repairing the road. We had appealed an order by the county to paint our shops in county recommended colours in the high court. This order would make us lose our brand identity because we are recognised by our customers by our pink colour,” says the employee.

The County Government of Mombasa is yet to respond to the allegations.

“We think we are being frustrated for challenging the order. This is unfair,” adds the employee.

Here are photos of the materials purportedly dumped by the County Government of Mombasa.
