    Raila Odinga Thanks Opposition Leaders Who Supported Controversial Finance Bill

    NASA leader Raila Odinga has sent a statement to thank opposition Members of parliament who supported the Finance Bill 2018.

    He said that these Members of parliament understood the bigger picture in line with the party’s ambition to solve Kenya’s problems permanently.

    “Mr. Odinga therefore thanks those members who, despite different concerns, were able to honour their word and commitment to the party and looked at the larger picture in line with the party and the coalition’s dream of finding longer-term solutions to the country’s ages old problems,” read part of the statement signed by his Spokesperson Dennis Onyango.

    The NASA leader said that he was committed to ensuring that Kenya finds long lasting solutions to problems through rational and bipartisan steps.

    He insisted that party discipline was a key factor in ensuring that political parties are strengthened and in the long term aid the process of democratization.

    “More importantly, Mr Odinga believes that party discipline is going to play a critical role as Kenyans seek to actualize the dreams of the country’s rebirth and re-engineering as contained in the in the nine point building bridges to the new Kenyan Nation to the New Kenyan Nation MOU,” he stated.

    Raila Odinga had called on NASA members of parliament to support the proposals made by the president on the Finance Bill 2018. Some of the Mps within the party declined to align by the party’s position opting to vote no but the bill passed and PresidentKenyatta has already signed it into law.
