The corruption case of governor Sospeter Ojaamong seems to have hit a snarl up after the key prosecution witness disowned his statement.
Mr Nicodemus Mulako, the Busia County Secretary said that he did not record the said said statement against the Busia governor and his ministers. He said that he had not joined the county government the time the alleged fraud was committed.
“I cannot testify on the strength of a statement which I did not record. By May 7, 2014 I had not joined the county,” Mr Mulako told the court.
The defense lawyers argued that the said witness was not the author of the statement and therefore he should be barred from testifying on a document that he did not author.
