Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) has expressed interest of introducing to the market 40 new brands of beverages, including hot coffee.

This was announced during the opening of a new Hotfill Juice Line at its Nairobi Bottling Plant in Embakasi in an expansion move.

“This year we have already launched 50 new products and we will most likely launch around 40 next year,” says Daryl Wilson, Managing Director of CCBA subsidiary, Nairobi Bottling.

Apart from hot coffee, Coca-cola has not revealed the new portfolio of beverages it is introducing to the market.

The beverage manufacturer says that the new plant will spur local acquisition of raw materials from Kenyans.

“We are committed to the Buy Kenya Build Kenya initiative and we source fruit, raw materials and packaging locally as well as continue to make investments to support this commitment,” says Wilson.

According to a statement sent to newsrooms, the new Hotfill line investment will impact over 5,000 farmers during harvest season by providing them a ready market for their crops, and over 100 employees who work in the mango processing plant.

At the juice plant there are 30 employees trained and certified to operate and maintain the installed equipment.

“Overall, the company has provided employment and training opportunities for over 350,000 women and 2,000 youths in Kenya since 2011,” reads the statement.
