Cecafa Senior Challenge 2018 edition will not be played for lack of a host country.

Kenya was the designated host but the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) pulled out for lack of finances.

Kenya staged and won last year’s edition.

The process of changing the Confederation of African Football (CAF) calendar in line with Europe’s has also complicated matters further.

In this regard, CAF interclubs 2018-19 season is expected to kick-off in less than a week’s time hence leaving no space for the regional tournament.

However, Cecafa is expected to stage the U-20 championship in Uganda next month.

This is subject to FIFA, the world’s football body, funding.
