Former Kilifi deputy governor Kennedy Kamto was on Tuesday night shot dead as he entered his Nyali home.
His body has been taken to Coast General Hospital mortuary, Kwale Senator Issa Boy has said.
Confirming the incident was Mombasa County Commissioner Evans Achoki who remained cagey about the details. He did however mention that investigations are ongoing.
Achoki also said that the ex deputy governor was ambushed by three men who demanded for money before shooting him dead.
No arrests have been made, yet.
Kahawa Tungu also understands that Kamto’s remains have been transferred to Pandya Memorial Hospital Mortuary.
