An Irish Catholic priest is having sleepless nights after accidentally playing 16 adult videos to kids, some as young as 8 years. Father Martin McVeigh, a priest in C ounty of Tyrone in Nothern Ireland, was making a presentation to parents of children preparing for Holy Communion about going to Confession.

He wanted to make his work easier using technology like any modern priest would. He started doing the presentation that is when the explicit content popped up instead of his prepared one prompting him to unplug the USB and flee the room. His colleague took over and showed the right presentation but the damage had already been done.

The slideshows were contained in a USB flash drive which Father McVeigh later said, was handled by many priests. The parents at St. Mary’s Primary School seemed surprised and demanded action while others immediately withdrew their kids from the church activities. Police later declared that no crime was committed while ibitimes reports that an 8-year old kid was present.

The Priest returned after around 20 minutes to continue with the meeting and encouraged children to donate some of their Holy Communion money to the Catholic Church.

In a statement, Cardinal Brady, the head of the Catholic Church in Nothern Ireland, said

“Inappropriate imagery was inadvertently shown by a priest at the beginning of a Powerpoint presentation, causing concern to those present. This was immediately removed from the screen.

The priest has stated that he had no knowledge of the offending imagery. The archdiocese immediately sought the advice of the PSNI who indicated that, on the basis of the evidence available, no crime had been committed.

The priest is co-operating with an investigation of the matter on the part of the archdiocese.”

In a statement the parents present during the presentation said:

“He was visibly shaken and flustered.

He gave no explanation or apology to the group and bolted out of the room.”

In a statement, McVeigh himself offered some vague explanations

“I don’t know how it happened but I know what happened

There are people making innuendoes who weren’t even there, but in this day and age these stories grow. All I can do is let the incident be investigated and be open to that investigation so that what happened can be legitimately explained.”
