Former Kiambu governor William Kabogo wants the state to jail Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula for his involvement in the fake gold saga that has taken the country by storm.

In a Facebook post, the ex county chief urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to lock up the legislator just to teach him a lesson.

“Mr. prezo HE UK this guy weta must be arrested and charged accordingly. Then sent to the UAE to face the sheikh. Atajua hajui,” Kabogo wrote.

Wetangula has been adversely mentioned in the Sh400 million gold scam and so has Interior CS Fred Matiang’i.

In a leaked phone conversation however, the lawmaker who has since denied the claim is heard invoking the name of opposition leader Raila Odinga and President Kenyatta.

The man who is assumed to be the Ford Kenya party leader is heard assuring a Dubai gold investor also believed to be Ali Zandi that the detained consignment would be released.

“I am a hundred percent sure there is no problem and tell Sheikh not to panic. We are finishing this matter and we will come and toast together.

Raila met with the Head of State on this matter and explained to him and the head of state has called the minister (Matiang’i). In the course of this week we will be able to finish this matter once and for all,” he is heard saying.

Wetangula has on his part noted that he is familiar with some of the parties involved in the scandal.

He has however maintained that he too lost a huge chunk of money in the gold deal gone sour.
