aa japanUsed Japanese vehicles exporter, AA Japan on Tuesday opened an office in Nairobi at FCB Mihrab Building, Kilimani in a bid to boost its market presence in East Africa.

The company is seeking to enhance its relationships with both current and potential clients as well as seek out new opportunities in the neighbouring Uganda and Tanzania.

The car dealer has in the last two years exported more than 5000 units to Kenya alone.

“In 2015 we sold about 3,000 units to Kenyans, 3,750 units in 2016 and last year saw us hit the 4,800 units mark, indicating a high potential to grow our business in Kenya and across East Africa,” said AA Japan President Ramzan Hameed.

“AA Japan has been doing business in the African region for a sustained period of time and the Kenyan market has always been stable for our business,” he said.

The new office, he said will help the company gauge the Kenyan market.

The office will also be able to accept local payment which will have a marked positive consequence in the whole purchasing procedure.

“Our initial scope of operations will revolve around serving the Kenyan market but we will also accommodate customers from other countries as well,” said Mr. Ramzan.

The Kenyan office will make the company much more competitive and its services more tailored to its African business partners.

Part of its entry into Kenya includes the introduction of an exclusive auction system for local customers. The system which will be introduced in March will allow buyers to bid on AA Japan’s stock and get vehicles at competitive prices.
