The staff at the ministry have described Ababu as ‘bothersome’. He has demanded for a whole floor to host his office and also asked for a VVIP lift that only the support staff and the CS will have access to.

Ababu has also overstepped his mandate and has already conducted interviews for the staff he wishes to absorb in his office.
The staff at the office have said that the former Budalangi member of parliament spends his time in the office hosting friends rather than working as his workload is not as that of tha CS and the two Principal secretaries.
President Uhuru Kenyatta created the position of the Chief Administrative Secretary to assist the cabinet secretary in running and coordinating the activities of the ministries.
