AccessKenya’s Statistics; 13.5 Million Hits on the Home Portal in one month

AccessKenya Group says that launch of the free online traffic cameras service by the Group to help ease traffic logistics, has resulted in more than 13.5 million hits on the AccessKenya home portal www.home.co.ke in October, compared to the 3 million hits recorded in September this year.

That I doubt, AccessKenya has been loosing rankings for the last one or so months that a website which was ranked almost 12th by Alexa in Kenya is now 29th.

We all don’t agree with Alexa but for sure it is still the most comprehensive independent analytics there. It only bring problems when your pages are opened in frames like those of Digg and Networked Blogs.

The release on AccessKenya website seems to have been meant to lure advertisers but the truth is that AccessKenya is actually loosing traffic from www.home.co.ke.

I agree with AK CEO, Jonathan  Somen, when he says “Online advertising is a big growth area of the future and by providing advertisers with statistics on how many people view their adverts and easy to count results of users clicking through to their sites, this form of adveritsing offers an excellent option for companies who want to accurately track the value of their advertising spend.  Traditional advertising cannot give people the kind of information and statistics that online offers.” .
I just don’t agree or get convinced that Home portal has got that much traffic but I might be very wrong. Do you agree with the statistics?
