Ghana will be without their skipper and all time top scorer Asamoah Gyan when they host Kenya in the final round fixtures of the 2019 AFCON qualifiers.

Gyan missed a 24-man squad named by the Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appiah ahead of the tie scheduled for Accra Stadium on March 23.

According to sources, the former Sunderland striker was omitted because he has not been getting play time with his Turkish side Kayserispor.

Gyan is also unsettled and has had to deal with family issues including a reported divorce proceedings he filed last year and paternity test on his three children.

Daily Mail last year reported that Gyan, who was at one point one of the game’s top earners, was broke.

Both Ghana have qualified for the 2019 AFCON set for Egypt from June 21 to July 19.

Kenya’s Harambee Stars currently top Group F on seven points, one ahead of Ghana and a draw will see them run away with the group.
