There was drama on Wednesday morning at AfriCOG offices in Lavington as Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) officials and police officers tried accessing the premises.
The officers were according to the search warrant ordered by the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to conduct a search on the organization’s premises.

They were however denied access as the warrant was neither signed by a magistrate nor addressed to AfriCOG or its Executive Director, Gladwell Otieno.
According to George Kegoro, the allegations raised against them were untrue.

He said that KRA officials had previously audited all their accounts but did not raise issues.
The officials have termed the raid and NGO board’s Fazul Mahamed call to arrest the organization’s directors was wanting.
The organization’s lawyer, Harun Ndubi has said that the government has a personal vendetta against them and will be going to court to present their case.
The UN has also condemned the attack on NGOs, including Kenya Human Rights Commission that was deregistered on Monday.
