Aku Räty is a Finnish professional ice hockey right winger currently playing for the Edmonton Oilers organization in the National Hockey League (NHL).
Born on July 5, 2001, in Oulunsalo (near Oulu), Finland, he stands at 6’0″ and weighs around 170-190 pounds.
Known as a hard-working, two-way forward who excels in board battles, forechecking, and consistent defensive play, Räty developed through the renowned Oulun Kärpät system.

Career
Räty made his Liiga debut with Kärpät during the 2019–20 season and gradually increased his role, recording modest but steady production in his early professional years.
He had a notable breakout campaign with Ilves in 2022–23, posting 18 goals and 42 points in 53 games, which helped elevate his profile.
In May 2023, he signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Arizona Coyotes.
He made his NHL debut on April 17, 2024, in the Coyotes’ final game in Arizona, recording an assist in a win over the Edmonton Oilers.
Following the franchise’s transition to Utah, Räty was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in March 2025.
He spent time in the AHL with the Tucson Roadrunners and Rockford IceHogs, accumulating solid scoring numbers.
In 2025, he returned to Finland, signing with hometown club Kärpät, where he delivered a strong season with 20 goals and 57 points in 51 games during 2025–26.
In May 2026, he signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Edmonton Oilers, returning to North America with their AHL affiliate, the Bakersfield Condors.
