    Alan Tacher Feingold is a prominent Mexican-American television host, born on March 28, 1971, in Mexico City, Mexico, into a Mexican-Jewish family.

    He pursued higher education and graduated with a degree in advertising from the Universidad de la Comunicación in 1988.

    Over the years, Tacher has become widely recognized for his charismatic presence on screen, particularly as a co-host of Univision’s flagship morning program Despierta América, which he joined in November 2012 and which has consistently ranked as the highest-rated Spanish-language morning show in the United States.

    Beyond his professional life, Tacher has built a family, marrying Cristy Bernal and welcoming a daughter named Michelle in 2015, while also having a son named Alex and daughters Nicole and Hannah from a previous marriage.

    Alan is the eldest of three brothers.

    His younger brother, Mark Tacher, born on September 15, 1977, has followed a similar path in the entertainment industry, gaining fame as both a television host and a telenovela actor.

    The two have shared emotional on-screen reunions, such as a heartfelt embrace on Despierta América, highlighting their strong sibling connection.

    The third brother, Erick Tacher, maintains a much lower profile, staying largely out of the public eye with only occasional mentions in family-related contexts.

    Career

    Tacher’s television career began in the 1990s, where he quickly made a name for himself in Mexican media through various productions on Televisa and later TV Azteca.

    Early highlights included hosting the special Califa de Oro in 1995, followed by the hidden-camera comedy series Te Caché from 1996 to 1997, the variety show Chitón from 1997 to 1998, and the early morning program Tempranito in 1998.

    He gained international recognition hosting the reality singing competition La Academia from 2002 to 2005, as well as Gente con Chispa from 2000 to 2003 and Aplauso Aplauso in 2004.

    Expanding his reach, Tacher co-hosted Levántate on Telemundo in 2008, then returned to Televisa in 2010 for the family entertainment show Décadas and the game series 1, 2, 3 por México in 2011.

    From 2011 to 2012, he served as a co-host on Televisa’s morning news program Hoy before relocating to Miami to join Univision’s Despierta América in 2012, where he has remained a key figure, delivering news, entertainment, and interviews to a wide audience.

    Throughout his career, Tacher has also covered major events, including specials for the Oscars, GRAMMYs, Premios TVyNovelas from 2012 to 2015, and annual New Year’s celebrations since 2011, solidifying his status as a versatile and enduring presence in Spanish-language television.

    Accolades

    In 2004, Tacher received the Best Presenter award from the Cámara Nacional de la Industria de la Radio y Televisión, presented by then-Mexican President Vicente Fox.

    His work on programs like Hoy and Despierta América led to a TVyNovelas Award for Best Male Host in 2014, along with an Excellence Award in 2015.

    Tacher was also nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award, and in 2019, he accepted one on behalf of Despierta América for Outstanding Morning Program in Spanish at the 46th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

    More recently, he won the Premios PRODU award for Best TV Presenter in a Variety Program in 2022 for his role on Despierta América.

    Additionally, Tacher has hosted prestigious events like the Premios Univision Deportes in 2014 and the PRODU Awards in 2021.
